Greetings Fellow Web Surfer

You have stumbled onto the homepage of Rick Coleman, a.k.a Lionheart. The Lionheart tag comes from my middle name, Leon, which means "lion".   Homepages are great because they let you blow your own horn, thumb your nose at the world, and in general make a real ego-maniac out of yourself. They are also great if you are a computer-geek who wants to stay out of the mainstream. That's why I have a personal web page and refuse to play "Facebook".

Well, now that you are here you might as well get out your hip boots and shovels and wade on in...

"Programo ergo sum"

"I program therefore I am"

I am a retired senior software engineer and now teach in the Computer Science Department of the University of Alabama in Huntsville. I'm trying to train my replacements. I have developed software applications in Java (my favorite language) and C++ (I program in it and teach it). I have also programmed extensively in Pascal (fun but a somewhat dated language now), Python (similar to Java in that it is cross-platform, and a really fun language), built web pages with HTML (also fun) and a little bit of Javascript.

My wife, Lucy, and I enjoy a wide range of hobbies and activities. Check out the links below...and, yes we do get a lot of kidding about being..."Ricky and Lucy". At least from those who are old enough to know anything about the I Love Lucy TV series of the 50s and 60s.
