Playing Field
The Quidditch playing field is called
the Pitch. In the Wizarding world
Quidditch is played on an oval shaped Pitch
500 feet long and 180 feet wide
(Whisp,
Quidditch Through the Ages).
See Figure 1.

Pitch with game in progress.
Regulation or Full Pitch Quidditch for Muggles is played on a
rectangular Pitch 50 feet wide by 100 feet long (see Figure 2).
The Pitch has a 10 foot diameter circle in the center where
the Quaffle is put into play.

Figure 2: Muggle Quidditch Pitch
Measures
On each end there are three goal posts positioned
on the boundary line. One post is positioned in
the exact middle of the boundary line while the
other two are positioned exactly 12 feet on either
side of the center post. The goal
posts are 12 feet high and should be no larger
than 4 inches thick with protective padding on the
lower 6 feet. The hoops, mounted vertically, on
top of each post are set facing the
pitch. Hoops are the same size as a standard
basketball hoop.
Twelve feet out from each of the boundary lines
where the goal posts are mounted is a line known
as the Keeper Line. This marks the boundary of the
scoring area in which the Keeper must stay. Other
players may not cross the Keeper Line unless
carrying the Quaffle.
