Research Positions Available in Video Processing

This project is related to mosaic/sprite generation from video. The hired student is expected to have prior experience in image or video processing. Knowledge on data mining and database systems would strengthen the qualifications of the student. The project is composed of several components:

·        Synthetic Video Generation;

·        Ground-Truth Mosaic and Video Generation

·        Development of online video database system for maintaining data and research results;

·        Video Classification for Sprite/Mosaic Generation;

·        Interactive video reproduction

The student is expected to pursue doctoral degree although this is a two-year project.  Additional funding will be sought after the completion of the project.

The student is expected to have a good GPA (minimum 3.0), good grades in multimedia system related courses (e.g., multimedia systems, image processing, computer graphics, data mining, database systems), high GRE quantitative score (>760), programming experience with images and videos.

The position regarding this project will start in January 2009 and end around August 2010.
